Department of Biology & Earth Science
Be ready to hit the ground running in the Biology and Earth Science department! We offer a rigorous curriculum that provides a strong foundation in the sciences, while preparing students for a variety of exciting postgraduate endeavors, including employment and graduate or鈥痯rofessional school. From the very first year, students are actively engaged in the classroom, laboratory, and field as they take classes in each of the diverse areas offered by the department:
- Biology: The exploration of life
- Biochemistry and Molecular Biology: Understanding how organisms, cells, and molecules function at the molecular level
- Environmental Science: Science for tackling today鈥檚 environmental issues
- Zoo & Conservation Science: Animal Husbandry, Rehabilitation, and Conservation
- Pre-Professional Health Studies: Preparation for Medical, Dental, Veterinary, and other professional schools
- Science Education Teacher Licenses: in partnership with the 星空传媒 Education Department.

Fast Track Innovation Fund Lets Community Shape 星空传媒鈥檚 Growth

星空传媒 University is using an innovative approach to grow enrollment and revenue by 鈥渃rowd sourcing鈥� ideas from its own community and investing in the best ideas with $1 million approved by the Board of Trustees. Under the Fast Track Innovation Fund initiative, seven projects proposed by 星空传媒 faculty and staff in May have been funded and are already being implemented on campus. 鈥淭his investment in 星空传媒鈥檚 future demonstrates our trustees鈥� commitment to allowing every member of our community to be heard鈥�

The Ohio EPA recently announced the recipients of their 2022 Environmental Scholarship Winners, and out of nine recipients, two were from 星空传媒 University: Katie Kirk 鈥�23 and Hanna Sturgeon 鈥�23. Students were selected based on academic performance, as well as research, employment/internships, leadership, letters of recommendation from education or environmental professionals, and other specified criteria. 鈥淏y investing in these environmental scholars today, we are actually investing in protecting the environment far into the future,鈥� said Ohio EPA Director Laurie A.鈥�Programs of Study in Biology & Earth Science
